Parker’s Story

Parker’s story is one of second chances.

Found abandoned in a dumpster in June 2021, Parker arrived at Animal Friends frightened and unsure of who he could trust. He would go on to spend more than 600 days in our care.

During that time, enrichment, training, volunteers and a dedicated behavior team helped Parker build confidence and keep moving forward while he waited for his next chapter.

Then, one weekend, everything changed.

Meet the family who chose Parker, the people who never stopped believing in him and the volunteer who formed a special bond with him during his long stay at Animal Friends.

Parker’s story has a happy ending — but there will always be another animal waiting for their chance.

This year’s Black Tie & Tails theme was It’s All Fun & Games, because sometimes a toy, a game or a moment of play is much more than fun. For animals like Parker, enrichment can provide comfort, build confidence and help them hold on while they wait for the right family.

Play It Forward and help Animal Friends continue providing the care, enrichment, training and support animals need while they wait for their second chance.

Give today and help the next Parker.
