Opportunities for Community Service & Volunteering

Day of Service
We are pleased to welcome your corporate, college or other groups for a Day of Service at Animal Friends. Our Day of Service includes a supervised animal interaction, a tour of Animal Friends and a service project. Projects depend on the time of year and upcoming events or activities planned at Animal Friends. Your group may be making toys, cleaning, assembling mailings, landscaping or preparing for an upcoming event. If your group is interested in joining us for a Day of Service, contact our Volunteer team.

Volunteers with Special Needs – Pairs Program
Animal Friends is proud to offer a variety of volunteering opportunities for individuals with special needs. Any volunteer who requires an aide, must have them present during their volunteer service. Both the individual with special needs and their aide will be required to fill out separate applications and attend our Pairs Program Getting Started Orientation before volunteering.

Community Service
If you are required to complete court-ordered community service, you may complete your hours at Animal Friends. There are some limitations to community service opportunities. There will be no direct contact with animals as you complete your hours. Animal Friends cannot accept applications from individuals who have been convicted of the following crimes/offenses:
- Violent crimes
- Narcotics or controlled substance offenses
- Animal cruelty or neglect
- Sexual offenses
- Crimes against children
- Harassment – cyber or other forms of bullying
- Larceny
