At Animal Friends, we know that losing a pet is an overwhelming experience. But, knowing where to turn could make all the difference in helping your pet find their way home.

If You've Found a Pet

Contact Animal Friends’ Lost and Found Department at 412-847-7077.

Contact Humane Animal Rescue at 412-345-7300.

Notify your neighbors, local vet offices and local police department to see if anyone has contacted them about a missing pet.

Check to see if the animal has a microchip. Most veterinarians, animal shelters and police departments have microchip scanners available.

Post to lost and found pet pages on social media.

Post fliers throughout your area.

Put a recently worn article of your clothing or your pet’s favorite bedding outside in a quiet place.

If you moved recently, check to see if your pet has returned to your previous home.

Check hiding places such as garages, sheds, under porches and in bushes.

Contact our Clinic Services team at 412-847-7004 about renting a humane cat trap.

Notify mail carriers, crossing guards and anyone else who is frequently in your area.

If your pet has a microchip, notify the company so they are aware.
