We know that the best place for a pet is at home with a loving family.
That’s why we’re pleased to offer an alternative to surrendering a pet with our H2H Rehoming Adoption program.
This program helps families who are facing the difficult decision to find a new home for their beloved pets by allowing them to stay at home while they wait to find new families.
What You Need To Know
Before You Visit
If you're interested in adopting a pet, please check out all of our available pets online. Our rabbit & cat adoption floor is open to the public and walk-in appointments will be accommodated as often as possible.
To reduce stress for our dogs, we don’t allow the public to roam the kennels freely, as high foot traffic and crowded areas can be overwhelming. Our goal is to maintain a calm and controlled environment where animals feel happy and safe.
Additionally, many of our animals are cared for by foster families in the community, so the pet you're interested in may not be at the adoption center.

Start Your Application
Before completing your application to adopt from Animal Friends,
please review our adoption guidelines:
- Before meeting one of our adoptable residents, you’ll need to complete an application and meet with an Adoption Counselor.
- You must be 21 years or older to adopt.
- All animals in your home must be spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations.
- All members of your household must be present before your adoption is finalized.
- If you are adopting a dog, we will arrange a meet-and-greet with any other dogs in your household. Please bring your current dog’s rabies certificate to your meet-and-greet along with your resident dogs on non-retractable leashes.
- We will need to verify home ownership. If we cannot verify home ownership online, you will be asked to provide a tax document, deed or mortgage statement.
- If you rent, we will need a copy of your lease stating that your landlord permits you to have pets along with your landlord’s signature and contact information.
- We will only hold an animal if the animal needs to meet other people or animals in your household or you need to obtain landlord approval. The maximum hold time is 2 hours.
- We do not place animals as gifts for others.
- All adopted animals are required to be indoor-only companions.
